Deborah is a Senior Speech-Language Therapist with more than a decade of experience. Before returning to Malaysia and starting her private practice, she worked at the Specialised Assistive Technology Centre in Singapore.
Deborah obtained her ATP certification from the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). She is a member of the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language and Hearing (MASH) and serves as a leader in the AAC special interest group. In addition, Deborah is skilled and educated in the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework and gestalt language processing (GLP).
Deborah specialises in AAC and supports individuals with complex communication needs and their community on integrating AAC systems into their natural environments to empower them to communicate effectively. She also provides AAC training to professionals and caregivers. In addition, Deborah has published an "AAC for Caregivers Manual (2019)" and co-authored a chapter in the book titled "Fundamentals of AAC: A Case-Based Approach to Enhancing Communication (2023)".

Deborah is a mom of two kids, enjoys cooking and loves travelling. She is fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
